The mall system was installed comprising two central cooling towers and pump sets reticulating condensing water to each tenancy while fresh air to tenancies was provided by a roof mounted fresh air fan and filter system. The public areas and foodcourt were air conditioned by a packaged roof mounted AHUs while a new smoke exhaust and control system was installed the top of the new central dome area.

Tenancies were then fitted out with air conditioning or fresh air systems to the tenants’ requirements under separate fitout contracts while toilets ventilation was provided by roof mounted fans as was the foodcourt kitchen exhaust system.

The Project:

The shopping mall complex was a new building built in two stages dominated by a high void glass dome. A central pedestrian mall linked the variety of shops, foodcourt and supermarket. Shops were accessible from the central mall and the main pedestrian route along Broadway. The mechanical services were undertaken as a design and build project.
